I started to remove the spot welds once I found them. They were hard to find amongst the rust.
A close-up of the offside.
The hole to the right of the chassis rail I didn't have to cut, SHW made it herself.
He then uses a paper thin cutting disc to keep the gap as small as possible.
I took the pictures I didn't help!
The hand painted blue gloss paint was removed.
I meanwhile next attack the wheel arches, I start on the offside.
On the offside I also remove the seatbelt bolt which as usual was rusted through.
Done...and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I only blew through in a couple of places. I haven't done from the inside yet.
As soon as he turned it on he realised.
His disc remove very easily.
Here is what Mr Saddo did before coming up to me.

A close-up of the nearside rail after the floor was removed and before covering in rust eater. Hope it leaves some rail!
This shows that not all the boot floor was removed, the bottom edge was left on for now.
Spot working out where to cut 'shorty' and he starts removing the spot welds.
Getting to the edge section was the worse part.
The panel we want removed from 'shorty'.
And this is where it will end up.
Then have a go at the nearside.
After Spot left I made a nice plate and set it in place. This would be my first attempt at butt welding with 3 spot welds along the bottom edge.
This is when Spot found that the lathe was going backwards.
And this is after he fixed it.
The mark of a true GT, which is why I'm doing all this.
Mind you it will help when he's gone.
