Rear Screen Corner

I cut out the corner section which had a hole through it.

I transfered this to the small piece I had and welded it in place.

Small bit of filler needed, not much.

I next attempted to get rid of the rusty corner section.

A plate was cut to fit from an old viva rear panel I happen to have laying around...like you do!

This was then ground down.

Inner Panel

Now I could work on the inside. I only had this part from the other car so that went in first. Next I made a new inner panel as I had done on the other side.

This came out okay. Look at the welding. Eat your heart out spot!

Then the edges were bent in a vice and holes drilled for the plug welds.

Welded in place and primed they look okay.

With this done I made a template to match.

I then made new sections along the bottom and side edges to butt to this.

Then primed. I love it when a plan comes together.

This was cut out becuase at the moment I can get behind it.

I first tack welded, then welded round.

I filled the joint with weld so this had to be shaped again carefully with a thin cutting disc to make the seam look right.

I decided to keep the original slope section so had to let in some new metal.

The original template was used to mark the metal then cut out, (which was a bugger).

Both sides are handed but I was clever enough to reverse my original template. Clever eh!
