Work here needed me thinks!

The offside gearbox chassis rail mounting is gone but Dave makes these so I'll be okay here. The nearside is nowhere near as bad.

First bit off

The start of the floorpan stripping. After I took the first bit off I was pleasently suprised.

Now for the bad bit

The holes started to appear when I tackled the boot area. I can't understand why the raised bits have gone.

Arch offside

This was a big suprise. The rear offside wheel arch was in great nick. DHR had to be totally re-built. (Not by me of course).

Always a bad spot

As always the bloody bolt and plate has rusted through. I intend to tackle this as my first welding project. I bet you can't wait to see what I set light to!

Rear Nearside Pillar

I then cut all the rusted area out. This was made easier because the interior skin had rotted away, so access was simple.

Rear Nearside Pillar

This was made easier because I kept the corner and edge on so I could be sure it was in the exact position.

The other side isn't as bad

The bottom of the front chassis leg is looking the worse for wear, I'll have to see how bad it is when I've had chance to clean it up.

Tunnel area

The whole tunnel scrapped. I'll be wiping it down with thinners shortly to remove the small black bits of underseal.

Rear chassis leg

This was taken to show that the chassis rail at the bottom of the slope was okay.

Good turret

A shot of the rear shock turret, in suprisingly good condition.

Rear Nearside Pillar

The rear pillar has a line of rust holes where the sponge internal insert meets the outer skin. We all know that sponge doesn't hold water!!!!

Rear Nearside Pillar

I layed the spare outer skin exactly in position so I could trace the hole on the inside of the metal.

Rear Nearside Pillar

The hole from the inside. Rust remover has been srayed liberally over the area some months ago.
