I have had Viva GT’s for ......oh my gawd 25 years, my current race one for 20 which is just getting a mechanical birthday and the attached photos of a Viva GT that raced here in the 70’s that I bought as a wreck just over a year ago (Guy would have approved it had a Chev 350 in it) but was built using a fuel injected Blydenstein built 2.3 which the original owner, Allan Boyle, still had under his bench 40 years latter!
I’m also rebuilding 2 other Viva GT’s one that was used for rallying here and was completely stuffed but as I have so many spares we are well on the way and the other Edd may remind you about is a Black Viva GT that we bought in Oxford in 1993 and brought back to NZ minus the shell!
It has a far better shell now, I think either Edd or a friend ended up with the original shell.
I also bought 5 or so years ago, supposedly ex DTV Viva GT that was brought into NZ from the UK by Nick Chivers which I have since sold on.
Oh one other ‘Vauxhall’ that we have is a Firenza that we are replicating as a Chev Firenza Can Am, a Chev crate engine will be fitted. |
