Chris and Michele are lucky enough to live where I want to live in Devon, in the exact place I use to holiday as a kid. From a very young age its the only place we went. Oh happy days! Moving on, Chris purchased VMV on the 5th of September 2008 and hasn't hung about getting her ready considering it been a total bare metal restore. Chris has always been a fan of the HB and owned quite a few since his first oyster gray deluxe in 1980, even though his Dad was a Fo*d man through and through. (Ford machanic to boot). He also restored a Firenza after that but returned to HB's after moving to Devon. After meeting up with old mates from Macclesfield he was talked into buying another classic and insisted on it being a GT. A quick look on E-bay and he found 'VMV' only five miles from where he lived. He has traced one of the previous owners, Paul Liquorice, who met him at a spares day and filled him in with some history and pictures. It was on the front cover of the Owners Club magazine for the 30th anniversary in 1998, outside the Vauxhall pub. Luckily for him he recently married Michele, who also likes the GT and all that comes with it. They enjoy camping and have been camping at Billing with us now for the last few years. What makes me sick is that he can weld. None of my bird poo welding but good proper welding. The pictures below are a record so far of the restore and I will update as and when I get more. They hope to have 'VMV' at Billing this year, 2010, whether she's finished or not. Keep up the good work. |
